Its aim is to enable all healthcare professionals in contact with cancer patients to develop new competencies and keep their knowledge up to date. IFOREM also provides training in the area of prevention.

The training provided by the Eugène Marquis Centre is led by healthcare professionals employed by the Centre who have made their knowledge and experience in cancerology available to the wider public.

IFOREM has developed various specialist training courses for nurses (education on cancerology, using implantable ports, providing palliative care, etc.), for radiology and radiotherapy technicians and for all personnel who work with ionising radiation (radioprotection).

It has also developed specialist training courses on various topics in oncology in response to requests by general practitioners and medical and paramedical teams.

In 1992, the Regional Delegation for Professional Training [Délégation Régionale à la Formation Professionnelle] registered IFOREM as a national training organisation.
