The Eugène Marquis Centre conducts clinical trials promoted by pharmaceutical laboratories and institutional groups such as UNICANCER, the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), Comprehensive Cancer Centres and university hospitals. It has developed a close partnership with Rennes University Teaching Hospital in the area of clinical research.
Clinical trials carried out within all departments of the Eugène Marquis Centre are supported by a team of clinical research assistants from the clinical trials department.
The department has 12 qualified clinical research assistants and four qualified clinical research nurses, all of whom participate in continuous professional training and attend regular researchers’ meetings for large international clinical trials. Although clinical trials are conducted in all of the Centre’s departments, most are carried out by the outpatient clinical research unit [Unité de Recherche Clinique Ambulatoire], in particular those involving patients who are taking part in early phase trials.
